Our doctor in this ...See moreStranded is a piece that explores that altering experience that many of my love ones have struggled to control. Our main character Ethan experiences a divorce and like many of your average humans, searches for help. Our doctor in this piece is symbolic of both the medical industries approach and the typical decision most of us make when experiencing hard ship. By turning to a drug of some sort. But Ethan's drug is different from what were normally used to in mind- altering drugs. Ethan's drug alters his subconscious and takes him to a reality that is whimsical and mysterious. The barrenness of the land separates Ethan from society and his problems and sends him searching for the answers. As the film plays on we notice that Ethan has a follower that lurks around him and stalks his every move. But little does Ethan know that this follower is actually his conscious hunting him down. Once Ethan is attacked by his conscious he is pulled from this surreal state and forced back to reality that he left behind. Achieving nothing but a rush of a high that avoids facing the truth of the situation, and in the end getting him nowhere. See less
