Larry is there because he has done something unforgivable and Dr Helena is there to help Larry. as the film unravels we discover that it is in-fact Dr Helena who is staying at the clinic and Larry doesn't exist he is just a figment of her imagination. Mental health can effect anyone irrespective of age , wealth or background , the film highlights that as much as we feel we are moving forward in our way of thinking it is perhaps just as archaic as is was then.
