Wheelchair-bound and cooped up in his apartment in a rough Cape Town neighbourhood, with no one to support him except his devoted girlfriend Pam, Randall is heavily indebted to his former gang-mate and sociopathic loan shark named Emmie. With no way of paying the money back, he despairs for himself and Pam as Emmie violently demonstrates what will happen if Randall doesn't settle his debt before the end of the week. However the gift of a pair of binoculars from Pam enables him to watch the shady comings and goings in the apartments across from his - initially it was intended as a toy for helping him kill time. However, this presents him with an opportunity to get his hands on the money he so desperately needs - but at great risk. One night, Randall bears witness to a weapons deal gone horribly wrong. The drug dealer/gangster, nicknamed "Lawyer", living in the apartment block directly opposite his kills a well-known corrupt cop in the botched weapons deal. In the middle of the night, they get rid of the body while Randall, unbeknownst to them, witnesses their every move. Randall's initial instinct is to contact the police and report what he's just witnessed. However, its not long before his criminal reflexes kick in and he finds himself devising a scheme to blackmail and extort the cash from the botched weapon's deal that Lawyer and crew now have in their possession.
