Maya asks Carter for his help to do a background check on Nicole. Seeing how upset she is, Carter agrees. Sensing something more going on, Rick offers to help Nicole mend fences with her sister. When Maya arrives, Rick boasts that honesty is the key to his and Maya's relationship. After Rick leaves, Pam overhears parts of an heated argument between Maya and Nicole. Carter informs Maya that Nicole was only a part-time student at UCLA, before dropping out completely. Maya storms off to confront Nicole about her lie.
