Women as Warriors shows a glimpse within the lives of four women involved in this vibrant art form. We meet Princesa Quetzal in Ciudad Victoria, Mexico, a teacher/activist by day and an empowered super heroine by night, next we travel north to Los Angeles, CA and meet identical twins known as Las Poubelles who show us a different representation of strength, and finally, we migrate further to Seattle, WA, to engage with college student La Avispa who finds her own hidden potential. These four women illustrate how their physical involvement within the ring parallels a metaphorical struggle for visibility, empowerment, and a new identity.
