He shot himself right on the set, showing the actor how to play a suicide scene. Denis suspects that someone has changed the fake pistol for a real one, and he starts his own investigation. In parallel with him, a young and attractive Ksenia Korolenko, an investigator of the ROVD, is conducting an inquiry in this case. Denis and Ksenia begin to cooperate. They soon come to the same conclusion: this is not suicide or an accident. Denis suggests that the director's murder is related to the film he was filming.
