The SHINE Program (Start Helping Impacted Neighborhoods Everywhere) recently won a Bright Ideas Award from Harvard's John F. Kennedy School of Government. Filmmakers Randy Cassimus and Jenny Monroe capture not only the images of the program in action as it successfully transforms both neighborhoods and people, but also the emotional impetus for a spin-off program inspired by the tragic death of its champion.
