Needing an easier way up, Felix takes Marie to his brother, Bastl Mooslechner, who felt betrayed as they were raised -parentally abandoned- by a late grandfather whose farm he continues, while Felix left to the city. Marie explains that grandfather Mooslechner was the only survivor who has opportunity to hide in the mountains a Nazi-robbed Vermeer painting on evacuation at the end of the war. Tobias Herbrechter is furious when his father presents the hotel's new physiotherapist Katharina Strasser as his half-sister, who knew for years unlike him about the affair that made his mother leave home. She invades his service jeep to force him to talk, but while he drives to repair road blocs, spots and chases the Mooslechner car as they clearly forced a way trough, but looses control and crashes down the slope, unnoticed by the escaping trio, so without phone reach it takes a while until the damaged car radio-improvised Morse alarm is picked up at the rescue station.
