Seva is a Sanskrit word meaning ' selfless service.' Origins tells the story of a group of counterculture activists who came away from their experiences at Woodstock dedicated to creating positive change in the world. Their quest led them across Europe and the Middle East to India and Nepal. They returned inspired by Hindu and Buddhist masters and the people whose lives were the embodiment of these practices. Through their own work in public health and political activism they founded Seva Foundation in 1978. 35 years later, these compassionate medical professionals and concerned activists are still dedicated to the prevention of blindness around the world.
