When a beggar pleads for help, the king's refusal triggers a curse that makes all food vanish whenever he tries to eat. As hunger consumes him, the king searches his castle in vain for sustenance and is driven to increasingly desperate measures. Following the scent of food, he arrives at a humble cottage on the edge of the forest, where he comes face to face with the mysterious enchanter once again.
