Barely scraping by in a Californian food-desert, Derek faces bullying from Joshua, a young homeless man not too different from Derek. At home, his brother, Samuel, seems to have it all figured out, despite selling drugs to earn respect and enduring excessive abuse from their father. Samuel and Derek rely on food drives to help them get by, but are constantly led down by a system that abandons already underprivileged areas.
