A Piranesian Vision' resides between still photography and film. Inspired by the compositions of the celebrated 18th century artist Giambattista Piranesi, this captivating visual narrative uses digital technology to create a unique work, a display of multiple photographs assembled to make a single view. The documentary engravings are merged with 21st century contemporary photographs to form iterative compositions that use the moving picture technology to span over a quarter of a millennium of time. Departing from a conventional narrative story-line, the subject becomes art, and in the process it reveals both the continuity and changes to the iconic archaeological landscapes of Rome over the past 250 years.
