The documentary engravings are merged with 21st century contemporary photographs to form iterative compositions that use the moving picture technology to span over a quarter of a millennium of time. Departing from a conventional narrative story-line, the subject becomes art, and in the process it reveals both the continuity and changes to the iconic archaeological landscapes of Rome over the past 250 years.
