In the U.S., two National Guard members were shot and left in critical condition Wednesday afternoon in Washington, D.C., near the White House. Back in Canada, what Prime Minister Mark Carney did want to talk about Wednesday is new measures he's putting in place to support Canada's steel and lumber industries - both suffering because of the unresolved trade war with the United States.
