Morería is a documentary about the work surrounding these details in the daily life of El Corral de la Morería, from the arrival of the food first thing in the morning and the meticulous care of the stage where the dancers perform, to a trip to Jerez in search of the best artists and unique wines in the finest flamenco clubs, taverns, theaters, and wineries. There are also moments of culinary creation and gastronomic experimentation where dishes are conceived to match the outstanding flamenco that unfolds every night at El Corral. This establishment, located in the heart of Habsburg Madrid, is the only restaurant in the world with a live flamenco show to hold a Michelin star and the venue that has hosted the largest audience in the history of flamenco. Corral de la Morería is a family business still run by the children of founder Manuel del Rey and his wife, the flamenco dancer Blanca del Rey - recipient of the Gold Medal of Fine Arts of Spain - with David García, a Basque man captivated by flamenco, at the helm of the culinary direction. In its 70-year history, the tables of this flamenco venue have been graced by international political figures such as Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Che Guevara; actors and actresses like Ava Gardner, Marlene Dietrich, Marlon Brando, and Richard Gere; and musicians such as Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and Kiss. In this documentary, in addition to hearing anecdotes from such illustrious visitors, we see some of the best flamenco dancers of the moment in action, such as Manuel Liñán or Ana Morales (National Dance Awards), Antonio Najarro (Gold Medal of Fine Arts), Eduardo Guerrero or Sara Calero, we hear ancestral voices such as those of Juana la del Pipa or José de los Camarones or we accompany chefs of the stature of Ferran Adrià and Mario Sandoval on their visit to the tablao.
