After some convincing, they set off on a joy ride across the surface of Mercury. As they cruise around, SON struggles to understand why DAD would give up racing when it clearly brought him so much joy. Before they can have a resolution, an unexpected solar flare suddenly throws them into a life and death situation. DAD springs into action, recalling his skills as a young pilot to race through canyons at break-neck speed. While racing along, SON gets a "magical" glimpse of DAD as a young man in his racing heyday - as if the adventure has taken him back to his younger years. They escape with only seconds to spare. Once safe underground, DAD's newfound enthusiasm finally prompts SON to ask DAD why he gave it up. DAD reveals it was all a choice and that family was more important than risking his life. See less
