He was a military man serving the occupying US army during the day and playing the Blues at night, not only in the most popular clubs in the Western part of the divided city but also in the Eastern part - participating in the daily life of people behind the Wall in Communist East Berlin. The documentary also leads us to the Blues music scene in the former GDR (East Germany), especially in East Berlin during the 80s up to present day, showing the joys and challenges, triumphs and fights against the restrictions of a political system of dictatorship, hostile to any expression of freedom and resistance. It portrays, with insight and humor, in a dynamic language of narration and rare pictures from archives, the creativity of the East Berliner Blues musicians and their drive to play the Blues at the most unconventional venues and under sometimes very difficult circumstances.
