April 9, 2009. Alberto, a firefighter scarred by a dramatic past, walks into an empty bar while the news broadcasts images of the destruction and casualties caused by the earthquake in Abruzzo, which struck three days earlier. Haunted by the memory of a tragic event, he recognizes an old trophy as a symbol of his pain. Arriving in the quake-stricken area, Alberto and his colleagues dig through the rubble, aided by a scent-tracking dog led by Enrico. When the dog signals something unusual, Alberto decides to investigate. That descent into the ruins becomes a personal challenge, forcing him to confront the shadow of a memory that was never truly buried. See less
