A life filled with joy, some sadness, and some regrets, yet always aiming to bring out the best in herself and others. In this interview she talks about growing up in a tiny Lebanese neighbourhood in St. John's, Newfoundland. It's easy to imagine the colour and warmth of those times as Lorraine vividly describes her childhood, especially watching her grandmother prepare delectable Lebanese meals. Later we discuss her teaching career as a convent sister with the RC Church, her work in social justice, women's rights and, of course, her many years leading the New Democratic Party of Newfoundland and Labrador.
