He wakes up and rehearses his opening lines and confers with his trusty tech sidekick who informs him of when he's meeting him to do a tech run of the show. He is met with texts lamenting how friends can't make the show, which he shrugs off. He grabs a cup of coffee and receives more texts, he is starting to become disheartened. Nevertheless, he and his tech begin prepping for the show. They talk ticket sales, and ultimately connect through the process. They work out their various bits and sketches, culminating in laughter and joy. Once they set up, they have some fun at an arcade while they wax philosophically on the nature of art, creating, and if this amount of work is worthwhile. The dread of a possibly low attended show sets in and they head back to finally prepare. The producer dons clown makeup and wracks up nervous energy, which ends up releasing in the show. The clown, the tech, and a performer end up grabbing food afterward. The clown, with poorly washed off makeup leads the group in a reminiscing of the whole event; cementing the reason for it all: the joy and camaraderie of the creative process. Written by
