Daniel is having an affair with Joanne, who gives birth to their child though both she and Claire are unaware of his duplicity. He is about to tell them both the truth but backs out, instead confiding in Robbie, whom he helps out when the police are suspicious about the bomb in his club. Joanne's elder son Robbie, however, mistrusts him. Samuel is pleased when the enterprising Charlie goes into property development, accusing Daniel of being jealous of his son whilst Louise is successfully elected as an MP. Ryan and his brother Lee confront Daniel about his secrecy but he lies by claiming he is a drug addict though after he leaves his phone at their house they ring up and speak to Samuel, As a result Daniel's double life is eventually exposed to all parties involved.
