Something runs the stairs in a perplexed, breathless way. It enters an apartment, It's strange look walks through all the rooms, wondering at the most ordinary item. But what is this invisible for us creature? It comes so silently. The invisible eyes come upon a lying body. And what is this? A plant? An animal? No, this is a man, a man alive. A little man in the big and hostile world where Death is always near us people, near humanity. This is a film about this same little man, but in fact there is no such thing as little men, because loneliness, pain, fear of death and desire for life have always been phenomena of cosmic scale.
