The father insists that his son follow in his footsteps and hunt sparrows, but the son loves the birds. Under his father's strict control, he secretly protects the sparrows. Unfortunately, when his father discovers this, he kills one of the sparrows and cooks it, forcing his son to eat it. Despite his powerlessness to resist, the boy holds a deep yearning for freedom in his soul. He dreams of being like the sparrows-free to soar in the sky and escape his father's control. One early morning, as the sky begins to lighten, he walks toward a large tree wearing wings made from sparrow feathers. Mistaking him for a bird, his father shoots and kills him.
