There were people who died unable to hear the tsunami warnings when the East Japan Earthquake hit. They were deaf people. Although they look the same as people without impairments, they cannot hear information in warnings, evacuation broadcasts, and the like, and this puts them in an even more vulnerable position. Masatoshi Koizumi of the Miyagi Deaf Association conducts support efforts to assist deaf disaster victims. He suffers a stroke due to overwork, but then takes up his activities as president once again. The director, who is herself deaf, went to Miyagi 11 days after the earthquake and spent 2 years and 4 months gathering material to create this powerful documentary. Written by Anonymous See less
