Paradoxically, the area has become less dangerous since the civil war between the regular army and the Arab-Muslim militia of the RSF (Rapid Support Forces) in April 2023, but the humanitarian situation is chaotic, with hundreds of thousands of displaced people, particularly Christians, seeking refuge here.
