The film opens in an urban area with Ryan ...See more"Chance" is a romantic comedy about a guy that finds himself in an unlikely situation that most guys dream of. He has the girl of his dreams who is waiting for him to pop the big question. The film opens in an urban area with Ryan Truesdale, a graduate student who has a big night planned for him and his girlfriend, Alexandria. Cody, Ryan's messy roommate, tells Ryan that maybe he should consider dating other girls before settling on one. We find out that Ryan and his girlfriend are Mormon, and it is expected that they wed at a young age. Ryan eventually rushes out of the apartment and runs into a young woman as he rounds the corner. He knocks the groceries clear out of her arms. He drops to the floor to help her pick the grocery items up. She is irritated with him. Ryan apologizes and flippantly offers to make it up to the woman the next day. They realize they live right across the hall from one another. Ryan begins to rush off and he asks for her name. She yells out "Erika." The next day, Ryan keeps his end of the deal and knocks on Erika's door fully prepared to take her to lunch to make up for his rude behavior the day before. When Erika opens the door, she is wearing eye glasses and holding a book. She didn't really believe Ryan would show up. Ryan and Erika head out. They laugh and have a great day together. Ryan and Erika share a heartfelt moment together that causes Erika to fall for Ryan.
