Her male cub has been held hostage up a tree by the angry troop of baboons and his sibling is lost, searching for him. By the time they find each other back near the den, it's their mother that is now at large. She's been diverted by a pack of wild dogs - rare and dangerous visitors to her territory. When she finally heads home, the best welcome awaits her - her two cubs are safe and unharmed. The cubs are growing strong and independent but it's of no help to her right now - their curiosity leads them astray and often ruins their mother's hunts. All their misdemeanors will eventually help them to survive on their own. The female cub is showing promise as a baboon-killer, like her mother and the male is an adept stalker. After two years of devoted attention, her two youngsters are ready to set out and find territories of their own. They have a good chance of making it as adults and their prowess is testament to their resilient and resourceful mother. Chipadzua's courage has earned the respect of the baboons and hyenas in her territory and she's finally taking her rightful place in the Luangwa valley. Written by
