The commercial would generate 27 months of volume sales growth and trigger a complete brand turnaround for the company. The now-legendary spot starts at a grocery store, where a young girl attempts to add a can of Chef Boyardee to her family's shopping cart, only for her mother to put it back, citing that she's had Chef for dinner every night that week. Disheartened, the child leaves the store with her family. Just as they depart, the can leaps from the store shelf and rolling out of the store, follows the family home. No sooner does the can roll right up to the girl than her mother asks, "What do you want for dinner?" The girl smirks, now having her answer. All set to the song "Un P'Tit Air" by TĂȘtes Raides. Robert Firth lent his signature voice to this award-winning campaign. Some 20 years later, viewers could still recall the commercial scene by scene and were recreating, then posting it on social media platforms around the world. For many of these consumers, it was a deeply important part of their childhood. Written by Anonymous See less
