'Traditional media, and I don't want to tar them all with the same brush, often look at the world through a Western lens.' According to Spanjer, this is already evident in the choice of words. 'Do you call something an attack? Do you call them victims or deaths?' We also look at how Cestmocro deals with criticism. Journalist Adriaan ter Braack talks about why he was blocked, and concludes that emotions sometimes take precedence over facts on the alternative news channel. 'I think it has actually become a kind of megaphone for his own emotions about the news. And that works well. Social media is often about emotions.'
