From the very first on Belgian soil in Liège in 1930, won by the legendary Italian Alfredo Binda to the last in Zolder in 2002. Won by the equally legendary Mario Cipollini, Il Re Leone. In 3 themes, with 3 episodes each, we cycle non-chronologically through the history of the World Championships in Belgium. From "Campionissimi" (Cipollini, Binda and Van Steenbergen), via "Unexpected winners" (Fondriest, Kuiper and Ottenbros) to "Belgian winners on Belgian soil" (Beheyt, Schotte, Aerts and Scherens). As the icing on the cake, we pay tribute to Yvonne Reynders in a bonus track. 7 times world champion. 4 times on the road, 3 times on the track. Yvonne is the oldest living world champion for women. A legend. Written by Anonymous See less
