Like many postwar migrants from Italy, she missed the tastes, smells and dialect of her home. The only portal back was The Re Store, Perth's most renowned Italian Deli. From its beginning in 1936, the store was an oasis for Western Australia's large Italian community. It represented both a meeting place for the homesick and the best prosciutto this side of the Nullabor desert.
