Orphaned at a young age and raised in poverty, Taghiyev never even learned to read or write. However, he demonstrated his dedication to education by providing scholarships to countless Turkish youth. He established schools and orphanages and became known as the "Father of the People" for his charitable works. He never hesitated to share his wealth, acquired through the oil industry, with the Turkish and Islamic world, especially Azerbaijan. After the Soviet occupation, he refused to leave his beloved Azerbaijan, leading to the confiscation of all his assets. He passed away in poverty. Nearly a century after his death, traces of Taghiyev can still be found in places ranging from Baku to St. Petersburg, from Istanbul to Kars, and from Pakistan to Egypt. This documentary film, supported by the insights of expert historians, artists, and intellectuals, will allow us to explore Taghiyev's life, his era, and the regions he influenced. We will deeply feel the essence of the phrase "Two states, one nation." Written by
