The famous Warner Bros. label was founded by brothers who, before changing their surname to Warner, were called Wonsal and came from Maków Mazowiecki, located ninety kilometers from Warsaw. The Oscar record holder, winner of as many as six statuettes, director Billy Wilder, was born in Sucha Beskidzka near Krakow as Samuel Wilder. The prematurely deceased director Ryszard Boleslawski, the creator of films with Marlene Dietrich, Greta Garbo and Clark Gable, also came from Poland. They created at a time when cinema was just taking its first steps. Using images and film fragments, the pioneers and stars of the silent film era in Poland will be presented. Written by
