She has worked in visual art since. Guðný works with traditional media including: drawing, painting, collage, sculpture and photography. "The work is a composite working-drawing that examines how 19 coordinates disappear in an oblique and at times invisible axis points that pass through the middle of it from the upper left corner, where it originates, and down to the lower right corner. The coordinates determine areas, some of which are divided into smaller, separate spaces but the cloth itself tends to expand and extend out and beyond the edges of the drawing. A range of object-oriented and non-objective forms travel about the image field following various paths determined by the right coordinates, twist together, transform and disappear. An insect that turns into a machine, that becomes a bird, that becomes a vehicle that attempts to transform into the internal structure of an insect. Like an island that was a woman on a circular platform with such a perfume that bore the name of another island. Thus she, who was both an area and a being, could close the ring in one all-encompassing staging." (GG)
