Not expecting her boyfriend's involvement, she is pleased when he proposes marriage. It is not long, though, until the honeymoon is over. Brown proves an abusive predator, which only worsens when the child is born. Soon, Deborah finds herself suffering from Battered-Wives-Syndrome. Finally escaping after 17 years, children in tow, Deborah finds refuge. But it was not long before Steven finds Deborah.
