She gives James a watch as an idea of perfection, which he uses to ensure he is on time every second of his life. His mother suddenly becomes sick and dies. After the opening exposition, James wakes up and goes through his morning routine, all on time. He leaves for work and talks with Finn (Moses Aydin) before returning home to sleep. The next day, James is one minute behind his routine for the entire day. James sleeps in until Kai (Muaz Aydin) wakes him up to tell him he's late. He's five minutes late for the rest of the day. The following morning, despite how much he rushes, spilling milk and skipping half of breakfast along the way, James can never catch up. During their daily conversation, Finn is concerned about how out of character it is for James to miss his schedule and thinks he should talk to someone about it, but James says he isn't ready yet. James comes home to the mess he left that morning, which Kai bugs him about. James goes to bed and is woken up about half an hour later than usual. As James gets ready, Kai insists on coming with him. When James talks to Finn, Finn is adamant that he needs to talk to someone immediately, to which James reluctantly says he will, as he brushes off Finn. James gets home at 2:00 AM and falls asleep on the couch. When he wakes up at nearly noon, James panics about how late he is, but realizes he isn't wearing his watch. James gets his watch out of his bag and puts it on, while ignoring Kai's suggestions to rest or talk to someone. He takes off the watch and breaks it. Written by
