After DNF-ing a half-marathon in Newcastle due to an injury and subsequently losing a tower race in Poland, he will be making his way to New York City, the most populous place in America, to defend his title at the Empire State Building Run Up. Coming into the race, Wai Ching will be carrying the fatigue of a tough race of racing, running the Standard Charted half-marathon and then travelling halfway around the world to race up the Seattle Space Needle all in the week leading up to the Empire State race.
