Club profits are hidden. Large profits from the sale of players go into the pockets of officials and a number of at least dubious persons, who, posing as managers, launder money obtained from drug sales or other illegal activities through sports. Matches are fixed, and through the control of bookmakers, money circulates among the privileged few. Sports competitions and associations and organizations are often a cover that serves to pour money from the budget into the pockets of private individuals. The sports mafia is one of the few whose affairs are not even touched. Apart from players, coaches, officials and criminals, prominent businessmen and many politicians are also present in that chain.
