One day the wolf had a fancy for some beef, but he was afraid of the sharp horns of the ax. He thought to play a trick, but how? Passing himself of as a painter, he makes the ox a portrait which lacks the strongest of his weapons-the horns. The wolf did not paint the horns on the false pretext that they might disfigure the ox. Now the candid ox comes to realize the wolf's aim, there is no doubt about it. As the wolf approaches the ox deals him a very hard blow and throws him dead away.
