When Allegra and Leo's beautiful family home is Dorset is up for sale, they decide to throw one last party with their closest friends. However, a male stranger, Nick, is invited and poses a threat to Leo, the arrogant lord of their social world. The night crescendos into a dancing whirl of frenzy, but Leo is left; embittered at the sabotaged evening. His pride is wounded, and in this state he is manipulated in a way he never thought possible. Thus the tragic story of the Theban king's downfall is retold over one long, dark and dire night.
