He wishes to die while he still recognizes his wife, Marjan, and his home, so he decides to end his life early. Marjan struggles with his decision but understands it. Although Dutch law allows doctors some leeway to fulfill such requests, Paul's doctor refuses to help, claiming he doesn't meet the criteria. Paul takes matters into his own hands, gathering information with Marjan, speaking with experts, and obtaining the necessary pills. Finally, he chooses a date. Every detail is clear.
