Confronting his brother he learns that there is no New Town, the whole exercise is a scam designed to allow the construction of a motor-way, whose planners are paying Basil to clear the village. Prem discovers that Robert was struck off in London for prescription misuse and, with Megan, persuades him to admit the truth about his brother's plan. Dan inadvertently scuppers Basil's dirty dealings whilst Emlyn realises that Graham caused the explosion on Basil's instructions and the Thomas brothers are arrested.
