Captain Tom Clayton and Pilot, Ava Reid have been flying together for a considerable length of time. Long enough, that Ava knows not to trust the Captain to fly his own ship and her sentiments are proven when she goes to check the cargo hold. On crashing on an ice planet, Tom pulls an injured Ava to the apparent safety of an abandoned damaged outpost. While Ava lies on the ground, conserving her strength, Tom tries to gain access to the base, however as soon as he does, he becomes trapped, leaving Ava dying from her injuries and exposure, and Tom inside a lab with no power. The Tom talks to Ava via their comms, trying to keep Ava conscious while Tom tries to escape his prison or rescue arrives.
