Her loved ones and caregivers tried everything to pull her out of the dark abyss, but when all efforts failed, euthanasia ultimately became the release Milou so desperately longed for. Milou's struggle came to an end, but after her death it took on a bitter afterlife when, out of nowhere, a group of psychiatrists and doctors seized upon her case to publicly take a stand against euthanasia for young people.
