Each city has its own interpretation with different customs and traditions, but the impact of the principality is universal. Every year the same question arises: who will be the prince or princess of the carnival association this year? Months of preparation and secrecy precede this revelation. 56-year-old Sjon is being prepared for his position as Prince Carnival. Last year he underwent a life-changing operation. Since then he wants to experience what it is like to become the prince in the village where he was born and raised. 'The secret of carnival' is a film out solidarity and fraternization. It shows the importance of connecting with your loved ones. For the audience of this film, the prince also remains a mysterious character.
