During the Cyprus Landings in 1974, his shadow was spotted which caused him to get shot. When Se ref turns back crippled, his childish nature and restlessness gets out of control. His wife, Asiye leaves him because she can not tolerate his attitude and starts living in another house in the same village. However, Seref still loves Asiye. One day he spies on Asiye. Asiye sees his shadow and makes fun of him. After that Seref yells at his shadow telling to it not to follow him anymore. The shadow wakes up and leaves him shadowless.
