Without bees, no fruit tree would bear fruit and no flower would reproduce. Bees transport the pollen collected from the flowers and the nectar through the air and from flower to flower. This is how they pollinate other plants as well. They combine the pollen with nectar and bring it home to the hive in their pollen baskets, where the mixture matures into honey in honeycombs. Real honey is a delicacy and very healthy. Until now, beekeepers have set up their hives outside of cities. In recent years, however, more and more people have been keeping bees on balconies, in city gardens, or on terraces. One of them is Thomas. Animal reporter Anna visits him and his nearly 200,000 bees on the roof of a theater. Wearing a protective suit, smoker, and hive chisel, Anna takes a close look inside the hive. Thomas shows her how to distinguish honeycomb from brood comb and where to look for pests. Of course, she also gets to taste the delicious honey. And even has a quick cuddle with a male bee, a drone.
