In December 1979, NATO decided to deploy over 500 American missiles on the Old Continent. This escalation in the use of nuclear weapons plunged part of the population into the fear of atomic war. In the UK, a group of women got together to share their fear of the future and decided to take action. On August 27, 1981, they organized a march across Wales to the Greenham military base in England. See less
