Seventeen years later, LOTL is an Australian media institution. Lesbians on the Loose explores the humble beginnings of the magazine, and traces its involvement in the women it represents through their own stories. From a cheaply photocopied street rag to a glossy magazine, LOTL has seen more changes than the simply cosmetic. It has reflected the voice of lesbians in Australia, and around the world. Lesbians on the Loose also asks the question- can one magazine be all things to all people? Is there such a thing as a lesbian community? Still free to street, still woman-centered, and still polarising opinion, LOTL is a magazine like no other. Written by
