Lise spent years in the hospital recovering, undergoing multiple reconstructive surgeries, experiencing bullying, and navigating the world in a house run by parents who she describes as outrageously flawed, gifted, and iconoclastic. In spite of her beginnings and losing 4 family members to suicide, Lise continually found resilience, becoming a psychologist, mother of two daughters, and disfigurement advocate.
